Flights to Cologne
The airport is located approximately 17 km (10.5 miles) east of Central Cologne and within easy reach of the city centre.
S-Bahn S13 inter-urban trains leave from Köln Bonn Airport every 30 minutes between 00:04 a.m. and 11:34 p.m. The average journey to Cologne Central Station "Köln Hauptbahnhof" takes 15 minutes. Price for a one-way ticket, tarif 1 b, is Euro 2.30.
Taxis to or from the city cost approximately 25 EUR for a one way trip.
Car rentals are available at the airport.
Motorways to Cologne
A network of ten star-shaped motorway axes from all directions leads into a motorway ring that encircles the city – A 1, A 3, A 4, A 57, A 59, A 555, A 559. In addition, Cologne is connected to several major "Bundesstraße" B roads. We recommend using one of the over 150 Park and Ride facilities with more than 19,000 parking lots all over the town to avoid getting into traffic jams.
Rail
The main train station is situated just next to Cologne's primary Cathedral (Kölner Dom), both of which are located in the center of the city.

Emission zone
Since Januar 1, 2008 Cologne city has been an emission zone. Such zones, recognizable by signs similar to signs designating speed limit 30 kmh zones, are regulated by traffic restrictions: Low-emission vehicles are allowed while high-emission vehicles are prohibited.
